Airlines globally have posted a Q2 net profit of US$2.32 billion, down 40 per cent from US$3.71 billion in the same year-ago period, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has reported.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is "disappointed" the EU Court of Justice has ignored objections to aviation's inclusion in the EU's Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), but says it has not given up hope of having aviation removed from the EU ETS, which comes into force in 2012.
