Air New Zealand director Roger France told shareholders at the NZ carrier’s annual meeting this week that regulators around the world are undertaking the biggest investigation in history into the air cargo business and he confirmed Air NZ has been named in a class action. Though the company has been through all its records and believes it has no exposure, France said, it was impossible to know absolutely that there was no exposure.

OAG launches Chinese, Japanese web sites

ANA reschedules B787 program

Japanese airline All Nippon Airways (ANA) has been forced to reschedule delivery of the first of its new Boeing 787 aircraft to August 2009 following production delays in Seattle. The airline has reached agreement with the aircraft manufacturer on a revised delivery schedule for the B787 to minimise the impact of the delay in the aircraft’s development on ANA’s business plan. Delays for the new B787 range from 14-36 months per aircraft, with an average delay of two years. The carrier plans to introduce nine 767-300ER aircraft in fiscal 2010 and FY 2011 to cover its interim capacity needs.
