Improved market opportunities made possible by an expanded open-skies agreement between Canada and the United States will see Air Canada start daily flights from Sydney to Toronto via Los Angeles in 2007. TAIWAN CARRIER EXPANDS

China Airlines has completed its acquisition of a 25 per cent stake in a mainland Chinese cargo carrier Yangtze River Express Airlines, a subsidiary of China's Hainan Airlines. Shanghai-based Yangtze River Express Airlines was recently the first freighter airline from China to launch scheduled services to Singapore’s Changi Airport. Singapore is also the carrier's first scheduled destination in Southeast Asia.
