The International Air Transport Association (IATA) says there was continued stronger overall year-on-year demand for air cargo in October measured in cargo tonne-kilometres (CTKs), which increased by 3.8 per cent compared to October 2022.

US-headquartered global freight forwarder AIT Worldwide Logistics has acquired UK-based Mach II Shipping (Mach 2 or Pharmafreight), a freight forwarder pharma specialist.
The deal includes an AIT subsidiary in the Netherlands as well as a global network of life sciences partners.
Mach 2 also provides dedicated road services using a fleet of temperature-controlled vehicles as well as in-house Customs clearance and a temperature-controlled UK warehouse near Heathrow Airport.
Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) is opening 12 new automated service kiosks (ASKs) to speed up collection of import cargo from its SuperTerminal 1 facility, the first cargo terminal operator in Hong Kong to introduce such a system.
Under the new system, the agent or consignee obtains a Shipment Release Form (SRF) from the airline, but then visits one of the 12 ASKs, which are located near the cargo pick up areas.
