China's China Southern Airlines has withdrawn two B747-400Fs from service. The airline's cargo operation will instead use its six B777-Fs, with two more of those twin-jet freighters to be delivered later this year and another four in 2015.

Low-cost airline Norwegian Air Shuttle has grounded one of its Boeing 787s. Boeing is working with Norwegian Air to fix the problem, which is described as 'electrical' but unrelated to the jetliner's lithium-ion battery issues that caused the fleet to be grounded world wide for four months earlier this year.
