Air Canada to upgrade economy and premium cabins

Air Canada has confirmed a comprehensive range of new product improvements to elevate the customer experience. 
The changes include upgraded economy dining, more in-flight entertainment and connectivity options, and enriched premium offerings. Beginning next month, customers will see new and restored services in Maple Leaf lounges and in premium cabins, a new economy class dining service with a celebrity chef entree internationally plus fresh, new bistro choices in North America, and in a first for a Canadian airline, complimentary, high-speed wifi.

Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency claims international traffic surge

Despite bans on flights between Russia and many parts of the world because of the war in Ukraine, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency claims there were 8.7 million passenger journeys to and from the country on foreign airlines during the first nine months of this current year, more than twice the four million people in the same period in 2021.

Air Canada converts 15 A220-300 options

Air Canada has converted options for 15 A220-300 aircraft to firm orders, bringing to 60 the total number of the Canada-built aircraft for its fleet.
"This expanded order for the A220, built up the road from our Montreal headquarters, is an important development in the modernisation of our fleet and a clear indication that we are emerging from the pandemic solidly positioned for the future. The A220 has become a mainstay of our narrowbody fleet, and its performance and passenger comfort are enabling us to compete effectively in the North American market," said Michael Rousseau, president and chief executive of Air Canada.

Germany’s Munich Airport has launched an 'Express Queue' reservation system, which aims to manage passenger flows ahead of security checkpoints in Terminal 1 more effectively,  reducing waiting times. 
Air travellers departing for destinations in non-Schengen countries now have the option to secure a 30-minute window for access to security checkpoints and passport control, free of charge.
