Singapore Airlines Cargo has launched a non-stop freighter service from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in the US to and from Viracopos, Brazil. The service started with one flight per week, but becomes twice weekly in September.

Latam posts Q2 profit

Latin America's newly merged regional carrier Latam Airlines has posted a Q2 profit of US$49.7 million, enhanced by accounting effects of the tie up between Chile's Lan and Brazil's Tam and higher sales. Operating revenue totalled US$1.548 billion during the second quarter.

Turkish Airlines is buying 'at least' 15 Airbus or Boeing jumbo airliners valued at US$4 billion list.
The carrier plans to purchase Airbus A380 or Boeing 747-8 aircraft as part of plans to grow its fleet to 300 aircraft by 2023.

Air Partner releases matching app

Air Partner has launched a multi-lingual freight app that matches air carriers to the type of cargo.
It uses the weight and dimensions of each consignment to choose the most appropriate aircraft for the task and also includes images and cargo hold diagrams. It is available from the Apple store.

Li made ABC regional director

Russia-based AirBridgeCargo Airlines has appointed Joanna Li regional director, Asia and Pacific, replacing Robert Song who has left the company. Li currently is general manager, Hong Kong and SE Asia. She joined ABC in 2008.
