Better results for BAWC

British Airways World Cargo (BAWC) has reported commercial revenue (flown revenue plus fuel surcharges) of GBP536.6 million for the nine months ending December 31, 2008, an increase of 18.3 per cent against the same period in 2007. Excluding the impact of exchange rate movements, commercial revenues were up 12 per cent.

Tanzania plans to sell a 49 per cent stake in state-run Air Tanzania to Chinese firm China Sonangol International, which will help the carrier buy nine planes.
The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) suspended the carrier's operating licence in December, but the airline has since resumed operations.

Cathay to boost Thailand services
