Lufthansa Cargo forms alliance

According to Financial Times Deutschland, Lufthansa Cargo is planning a freight alliance, combining its Chinese Jade Cargo unit and Swiss World Cargo with Aerologic, which it owns with Deutsche Post AG.
The new group will have 36 freighters and access to belly space in 400 passenger planes. Launch is planned 2010.

Lufthansa Cargo named in US$85m settlement

A US law firm says it has settled a cargo price-fixing case with Lufthansa. Cohen, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll says it reached a US$85 million (€53.9 million) settlement for customers who purchased air freight shipping services from the airline for transport of goods to, from and within the United States.

New freighter routes for Etihad

Etihad Crystal Cargo will launch freighter operations to the Nigerian city of Lagos on 31 March and the Sri Lankan capital Colombo on 02 April. Lagos flights will be operated by MD11F aircraft with a capacity of 85 tonnes.

Cathay Pacific is to invest HK$4.8 billion (US$618 million) in a cargo terminal at Hong Kong airport able to handle 2.6 millions tons of cargo a year. Cathay also plans to sell its 10 per cent stake in Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals.
