Fiji’s Air Pacific says income for the first few months of this year has been hit by low cargo rates and low airfares. It has now announced a 10 per cent pay cut for staff to help offset a cash flow problem because of the decrease in income.

More cash for China Eastern

China Eastern Airlines says it has received a Chinese government cash injection of two billion yuan (US$290 million dollars) to help it overcome “financial difficulties". The carrier already recently has received seven billion yuan from the state. It reported a net loss of 15.3 billion yuan last year.
