Cargo 2000 has announced a new organisational structure that will see the appointment of a new executive director as well as a technical director and three regional directors. The new team, which will include the current program director Lothar Moehle, is expected to be in place by the end of the year.

Brussels-based Cargo B's first B747 freighter has been cleared by EU regulators to launch charters ahead of scheduled operations to Libreville, Johannesburg and Nairobi later this month. A second Cargo B B747F will be based at Brussels in the next two weeks. After Africa, Cargo B intends to service South America and later, to service major global markets. -JH

Inventory of air pollution connected to the Unified Port of San Diego, USA shows ocean-going vessels accounted for most of the nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide and particle emissions last year. Ships also produced more greenhouse gases, which contribute to global warming, than any other port-related sector.
