BAWC reports improved performance for air freightimproved

British Airways World Cargo (BAWC) has reported commercial revenue (flown revenue plus fuel surcharges) of £453.7 million for the nine months of the financial year beginning April 2007. This is a decrease of 0.9 per cent after the effects of exchange rate movements are removed. This represents a marked improvement on the six month position, when revenues were 5.3 per cent down compared to the same period last year.

Airbus has powered one of four Rolls-Royce engines on an A380 on GTL, a liquid fuel processed from gas, claiming it's the first-ever commercial aircraft flight partially powered by an alternative fuel.
