Taking AIME to new heights
A new professional development seminar program will be a feature of this year’s AIME, the 14th Asia Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo, at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, on June 6-7.

The program includes two association seminars, two business event forums, and six new seminars for the local and international corporate market.

“The Business Events Forum now runs on two mornings prior to the show, to allow exhibitors, hosted buyers and visitors a chance to gain a global perspective on the industry and hear case studies from around the world,” said AIME event director Rosemarie Sama.

On day one, the Trendspotting session will offer 90 minutes of intense industry information from leading industry figures in Australia, Asia and Europe.

On day two of the AIME Business Events Forum, Best in the Business Showcase will feature some of the leading events staged over the past 12 months. Case studies include the Forbes CEO conference in Sydney 2005, an Arabian incentive to Africa, the World Nephrology Congress in Singapore 2005, and special events linked to this year’s Melbourne Commonwealth Games.

Six new seminars for corporate visitors cover the practical aspects of running a major special event, organising conference programs, sourcing professional speakers, managing the budget and getting more done in less time.
More than 150 new exhibitors will be appearing at AIME this year.

New exhibitors come from more than 25 countries with China arriving at AIME in force with 10 exhibitors, including hotels and tourism operators representing some of the country’s leading brands.

They include Jin Jiang International Hotel Management, which manages more than 80 star-rated hotels around China, and China CYTS Business Travel International, part of China CYTS Tours Holding, a company that brings 680,000 tourists to China annually.

One newcomer this year is Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administrative Commission which markets Shanghai as an ideal MICE destination in Asia and as one of the world’s great cities.
