Sands signs contract for Macao:
13 events at five shows covered

A Las Vegas-based hotel, resort, gaming and exhibition/convention company has added to its trade show presence in Asia.

Las Vegas Sands Corp has signed contracts for five multi-year trade shows for The Venetian Macao that combined represent 13 separate events.

The company also said it had received several new letters of intent from other trade show organisers and is working with a pipeline of shows which it expects to sign up by the end of this year.

“Almost every week, the momentum of our Cotai Strip development reaches a new level,” said Sheldon Adelson, chairman and chief executive officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp. “Whether it’s another addition to our list of hotel brands, exciting entertainment acts, or the finest and most exclusive names in retail, all the pieces of the puzzle needed to create Asia’s Las Vegas continue to fall into place.”

Among the five trade shows signed up by the company are:

• Asian Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo
• CMP Asia Jewellery and Watch Show
• Global Gaming Expo Asia

Macao’s Cotai Strip is a master-planned development of resort, hotel and casino properties on reclaimed land between the islands of Taipa and Coloane. Las Vegas Sands is developing The Venetian Macao, which is currently under construction, as well as hotel projects such as Four Seasons, Shangri-La, Traders, Hilton, Conrad and Starwood’s Sheraton and St. Regis brands.
